H I S T O R Y

In 1989, Michael Johnston began providing pupil transportation for local public and private school districts. At the time, the company had 6 school buses, and 4 bus drivers, all based out of the village of Philmont, NY. Since then, the company has expanded, with 75+ vehicles, and over 100 employees on staff, with 3 locations throughout Columbia County to service numerous public and private school districts from Saratoga Springs to Poughkeepsie!

In 2017, Johnston Transportation, an affiliate with Michael S. Johnston LLC was created. Johnston transportation is currently contracted through Columbia County to provide transportation for the Columbia County Public Transit System. Johnston Transportation also provides transportation for various events such as weddings, festivals, family functions etc.
